I went to the Laing art gallery to look at John martins work
John martin (1789 - 1854) is one of the North East's more important artists, the exhibition was the first major exhibition for over 30 years, there were 80 of Martin's finest work including oils, water colours and prints, I think his work is outstanding and the detail was magnificent I stared atg each painting for a very long time to grasp all of its beauty.
This heaven piece was my favourite as it grasped the feeling of what I thought heaven would look like, with everyone dressed in white enjoying the sun.
